Where to stay in Rome

When organizing a trip to the Eternal City, there is a very important aspect to be considered: Where to stay in Rome?

 
Find where to spend the night in Rome can be a headache. There are many options and it is difficult to choose the best for us: what is better, to stay in the center or on the outskirts? Hotel, Apartment or hostel?

Undoubtedly, the answer is usually, always at the center. But in the case of Rome, you might prefer to stay in accommodation less central but with better access to public transport and so reduce costs.

If you are sure that you want to sleep in the downtown, a very typical area would be the Trevi Fountain or Piazza Navona. It's a luxury stay in a charming little hotel within walking distance of one of the major attractions of the city; leaving the hotel at night and admire the famous and elegant fountain without having to take the subway.  

This option would be the most expensive one, since what you pay is to be in the best neighborhoods in Rome and not only the quality of the hotel.

Another different and more current option to stay in Rome, would be to rent an apartment, which lowers costs, gives you more freedom in terms of meals and schedules, and is an excellent idea for families with young children visiting the city.

The third option, and perhaps the best in terms of money, for travelers who prefer to stay away from the center but with good metro and bus conections, is to stay in the Termini station area.

We can always think that being near a train station is not quiet and pleasant, but nothing further from reality. It's an interesting neighborhood with restaurants where you can taste the best Italian pizzas at the best price and with excellent access to public transportation which allows us to get to the tourist areas in the blink of an eye. In the area of Termini you can choose to stay in a small hotel with few rooms, or choose a hostel or bed & breakfast.

Planning a trip to this wonderful city is easy and very rewarding; of course that will be remembered forever, but do not forget one of the most important issues: where to stay in Rome. Then you just have to enjoy the trip.
